The LOVIDZ legal department will then take over and claim maintenance from the child’s father. Regardless of the outcome – LOVIDZ pays. If the father is a high earner and the maintenance to be paid by him exceeds the agreed LOVIDZ maintenance payment, mothers will of course receive this amount. 01. What is child maintenance insurance?
LOVIDZ insurance secures the living expenses of children and their parents, because unfortunately it is not uncommon for parents to separate, even when the children were wanted. And then the parent with whom the child lives – the single parent, usually the mother – is exposed to a variety of hardships. Above all, this includes poverty – most single-parent ‘families’ are poor. Thanks to LOVIDZ, single mothers receive maintenance (02.) – no ifs, no buts (03.)
But LOVIDZ also provides urgent financial assistance to fathers who – if separated from the mother – usually do not live with the child: for fathers who are obliged to pay maintenance, the maintenance payments usually mean major cutbacks, and quite a few fathers fall into poverty as a result of the alimony payments. LOVIDZ takes over these child support payments. (02. and 03.)
02. How much financial support will I receive?
LOVIDZ pays maintenance up to the agreed amount of €380, €550 or FULL COVER €900 per month. This maintenance is paid by LOVIDZ until the child reaches the age of majority (we define this age as 18 years old).
The LOVIDZ payment is a supplementary benefit that is always paid in full, without deductions. If mothers or fathers receive other benefits – for example from state agencies – these will in no way reduce the agreed LOVIDZ maintenance.
03. What are the insurance conditions?
Single parents (mostly mothers) and persons obliged to pay maintenance (mostly fathers) who are insured with LOVIDZ receive – if necessary – unbureaucratic immediate assistance (€2.500).
LOVIDZ then transfers the agreed monthly maintenance just as quickly: single parents declare their status and the LOVIDZ legal department then takes over and pays the maintenance without delay. Regardless of whether the debtor pays maintenance.
A person obliged to pay maintenance notifies LOVIDZ of their duty to pay alimony and LOVIDZ takes over the child support up to the agreed amount. No ifs, ands or buts.
04. Legal protection
It is not uncommon for separated parents to be in a fight; almost always, they battle bitterly in court with lawyers for years, often over money – but LOVIDZ takes care of that for insured persons!
Unfortunately, legal clashes between separated parents often arise over custody of their children – or simply over what parenting style should be followed – but with FULL COVER, LOVIDZ takes care of that for insured persons too!
05. Where can I get help?
Becoming a mother or father is one of the most significant life events. Especially when this happens unexpectedly or the relationship is fragile, the event can create tension and stress. The same applies to the separation of a couple with a child: challenging and often very hard.
This is when LOVIDZ is there: not only with financial help, but also with LOVIDZ family counselors who are ready to support anyone in such circumstances. And LOVIDZ is usually the only thing that is reliably present – state support is inadequate in all countries of the world, and it is the children who suffer the most!
06. Circumstances for maintenance
Example 1: You take out insurance with LOVIDZ. Your child is born two years later. You are no longer in a relationship with the other parent, so you live alone with your child (usually the mother) or live alone without a child (usually the father). In this case, mothers receive the agreed maintenance from LOVIDZ, and LOVIDZ assumes the maintenance obligation for fathers (up to the agreed amount in each case).
Example 2: You already have a child. You are in a partnership with the other parent. You insure yourself with LOVIDZ. The partnership ends after 4 years – you then live alone with your child (usually the mother) or live alone without a child (usually the father). Mothers then receive the agreed maintenance from LOVIDZ and LOVIDZ assumes the maintenance obligation for fathers (up to the agreed amount in each case).
The only three paragraphs we think you should recognize:
- The insurance claim must be reported before the child reaches the age of 14; in other words, mothers or fathers who live together after the birth of the child or who are “only” together, i.e. are co-parents and in a relationship, can claim LOVIDZ insurance if the relationship breaks up and single parenthood occurs until the child turns 14. If the insured event only happens after that, LOVIDZ will pay 60% of the agreed benefit.
- LOVIDZ insurance must have been taken out 18 months before the birth of the child or 30 months before becoming a single parent or being obliged to pay maintenance.
- A beneficiary can only claim LOVIDZ once.

LOVIDZ is a child maintenance insurance scheme that combats poverty and helps children, moms and dads.
Unfortunately, parents often separate, even when they had wished for children. The parent with whom the child lives – the single parent, usually the mother – faces numerous challenges. And money is always far too short: well over 80% of all single parents are poor. State support – “Child Benefit” in the UK – does not cover the actual needs.
LOVIDZ fills this gap and pays child support until the child reaches adulthood (18 yrs.). Regardless of whether money is received from third parties (state, grandparents, universal credit); nothing will be credited or deducted.
When parents are separated, it is usually the father who is obligated to make support payments. Often, disputes arise, leading to years of bitter legal battles with lawyers in court, and for the father, paying support can also lead to financial difficulties. Up to the agreed amount, LOVIDZ takes on this obligation until the child reaches adulthood (18 yrs.) – without any ifs or buts.
It doesn’t matter to LOVIDZ why you have separated. We will pay the maintenance – and all associated legal costs.
